In this way we hope to help instill best practices, create muscle memory, and hone decision-making skills so that when there is a life and death situation, clinicians can respond with both confidence and a clear head.

VES – Case Builder

Designed on our proprietary framework Laurel, our technology allows Virtual Education Systems to integrate cases quickly and easily. Creating a simple to understand case builder that is web-based was a top priority from the beginning. Though we are creating state-of-the-art, high-fidelity, interactive content for both the web and virtual reality, we knew it had to be flexible. Constructing  a modular system that is scalable allows us to deliver content quickly, meeting the needs of the customer, their healthcare institutions, and ultimately – the patients they care for.

Like everything else, medicine is evolving. Best practices will always be at the top of the list of performance measures. To help providers and educators alike, the VES system is being built on a foundation which allows it to be updated and customized.

Debriefing

Analyzing key performance indicators provides enormous benefit to both students and faculty. First, faculty can clearly identify cognitive gaps and utilize teaching time effectively to correct and reinforce topics. Professional sports teams watch hundreds of hours of film in order to analyze a player’s performance. Similarly, VES technology is helping to forge this path in medicine, allowing immediate feedback and improvement for a learner.

Health Care Professionals

Standardized Competency Training / Assessment (With Individual Debriefing)

We have built a system that uses virtual environments for EMTs and Paramedics to experience the critical decision-making aspects of the emergency medical services profession, allowing them to practice patient assessment and provide treatments to a virtual patient. By delivering content in a standardized way, we can track the learner’s progress to competency. Unfolding cases provide a safe but interactive environment for learners to make mistakes, expand their skills repertoire, and learn from their experiences in a way unavailable in traditional medical practice. The best of the best are the best because they have 20 years of practice.  Now, that can be accelerated.
